 The AFCON qualifier match between South Africa and Egypt turned out to be an entertaining event.

With the Pharaohs in chase for a win. Desperation remained visible for the South African side to see. South African born actress Terry Pheto has landed her biggest acting role yet.

The Face of international makeup company L’Oreal Paris, is set to join the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful as from 13th of June to play a recurring role as a heart surgeon in the popular daytime drama.

Pheto said she was head hunted in December last year but said it wasn’t hard to keep it away from her friends and family after she found out the good news.

The writers of the Emmy-nominated series, which has been around since 1987, are not revealing too much about her role at this stage, however, they have confirmed that Pheto will be playing a world renowned South African heart surgeon in the soapie.

The only problem is that South Africans will have to wait a year before they can view her scenes in the story which will be aired in June 2012. The Bold and the Beautiful is broadcast on SABC 1 weekdays at 18:00 with a repeat the following morning at 08:00

“CORRECTIVE RAPE” NOT SO CORRECTIVE.

‘Corrective rape’ as it is known as the rape of lesbians to try and turn them straight. In so doing, they are desperately trying to convert lesbian women to “real” women. They are not only forcing themselves sexually on these victims, but they are killing them.

Some of the alleged victims of “corrective rape” include Nokuthula Radebe, 20, whose body was found in Soweto in March this year, Sizakele Sigasa and Salome Masooa, partners who were raped and murdered in 2007, and Eudy Simelane who played for Banyana Banyana. A court case involving the murder of 19-year-old Zoliswa Nkonyana in 2006 has been postponed more than 30 times in five years and now Noxolo Nogwaza.

Kader Asmal (8 October 1934 – 22 June 2011) was a South African politician. He was a professor of human rights at the University of the Western Cape, chairman of the council of the University of the North and vice-president of the African Association of International Law. He was married to Louise Parkinson and has two sons. He was an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, received a doctorate Honoris Causa from Queen's University Belfast (1996) and was a laureate of the 2000 Stockholm Water Prize. He died 22 June 2011 after suffering a heart attack.

The case of the late Masego Kgomo is still ongoing. Kgomo aged ten at the time went missing while playing with friends in a street close to her home in Soshanguve on New Year’s Eve 2009.

She was abducted, allegedly raped then murdered. Five suspects were arrested including a 14 year old boy for her murder and kidnapping. Kgomo's badly decomposed body was found nine days later near a train station in Soshanguve after one of the suspects led the police to her body...Read more
